   Damaging the build plate with metal scraper is a skill issue. I still use the blade that came with my A1 with a printed handle and the plate is still good. Just work carefully with right angle, don't grind all over the plate like woodwork.

   Just anecdotal but I’ve never had issues with a metal scraper on my textured PEI plates. Common wisdom is that you’ll damage/scratch your plate, but I haven’t had any issues yet on either of my two machines

   Don't tell me what to do i won't tell you where to go... I used plastic razors and metal scrapers. Never gonna use plastic ones again.

   > for any Pei or textured surface you're just destroying the plate. No, you're not. Metal blades are totally fine as long as you actually take a second to be careful. I've used plastic and metal blades on my PEI plate. Plastic works when the material comes off easy and I just scrape quickly without thinking. If something sticks too much for that--which is not rare--I'll use the metal scraper. You only destroy the plate if you're not being careful.
