    Testing a no-CAD cutter workflow: picked an icon, sliced in Bambu Studio, and printed a razor-sharp clay/cookie cutter. - Getting clean, sharp edges on custom cookie and clay cutters usually takes annoying prep work—either fixing non-manifold lines in CAD or tracing vectors by hand. Tested out a direct icon-to-cutter generation workflow for this print: * **Icon selection:** Picked an open-source outline directly from a built-in library instead of drawing an SVG from scratch. * **Blade geometry:** Automatically lofted a stepped blade profile (tapering down to a thin cutting edge) with a reinforced base flange for hand grip. * **Slicing & Print settings (Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer):** * **Wall generator:** Arachne (or **Detect Thin Walls: ON** — mandatory for the tapered cutting tip so the slicer doesn't skip the sharpest top layers) * **Walls:** 3 perimeters for strength on the flange * **Layer height:** 0.16 mm (Optimal for sharp top slopes) * **Nozzle:** 0.4 mm Stainless / Hardened * **Material:** Basic PLA / Tough PLA The exported mesh sliced cleanly with zero internal gap artifacts, and the test press in clay came out with crisp, separated lines.

    And yet another thing that will be highly appreciated: add an option to enable SSAA for powerful computers. This will make aliasing bands less pronounced in G-code visualization in the useful range of model scales (i.e. you will have to zoom out further to see heavy aliasing). On the left screenshot you can see the result of rendering in native monitor resolution (1080p). On the right screenshot, the resolution was increased to 4K with the help of 4X DSR scaling (enabled via Nvidia driver settings), thus mimicking the effect of SSAA. OrcaSlicer recently introduced MSAA support, but SSAA tends to look better in my opinion.

    Réglage créality K1 MAX - Hi, I bought a **used Creality K1 Max** because I’m sometimes limited by the 256 × 256 mm build volume of my Bambu Lab P1S. Since this printer will only be used as a secondary machine whenever some models are too large for my P1S, I decided to buy used. My budget was fairly tight, and I couldn’t really find an alternative to the K1 Max, which has dropped quite a lot in price on the second-hand market. Obviously, I wasn’t expecting a printer as easy to use and reliable as my Bambu Lab. But after bringing the K1 Max home, I’m starting to realize that it’s probably going to need quite a bit of adjustment and tuning… I started with a few basic calibration prints, including a 20 mm calibration cube, and the results seemed pretty decent. One thing did raise a red flag, though: before I even started the first print, I heard a loud **CLACK** during calibration… After checking, I found that the LiDAR bracket was slightly bent and was hitting the front-left lead screw. So I’m already wondering what this machine may have been through with its previous owner. According to him, his main issue was bed adhesion, which is something I haven’t experienced at all during my tests. But now that I’ve moved on to calibrating **Pressure Advance** and **Flow Ratio**, things are starting to go downhill… Here are the results I got using the calibration models built into OrcaSlicer. The prints were done using \*\*SUNLU PETG (235°c) \*\*, which prints perfectly fine on my P1S. Looking at the defects on these prints, I’m starting to worry that there might already be a mechanical issue, possibly related to pulley alignment, belt tension, or something else. **What do you think? Do these defects look more like a tuning/calibration issue, or do they suggest a mechanical problem with the printer?**

    These are the thinks I would check/try. Check if there is a partial clog. Check if the nozzle hole has not wear out and it is larger. Is the speed for first and second layer the same? Try increasing the flow for the second layer (in some slicer you can set different flow for first layer and the rest). For flow calibration, what I do is first calibrate the E-steps. After they are correct you shouldn’t need to change them. Then I do the Flow test from OrcaSlicer.
