Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Yeah you don't need it for weight or drooping but to keep it in place when the powder gets swept or padded for the next layer.

  2. Comment

I think you are conflating resolution with accuracy. 0.01mm dimensional accuracy means they can print to within +/- 0.01mm of CAD nominal, not that they can resolve a 0.01mm feature. That has very little to do with the size of your powder and more to do with how well you can control the optics and the melt pool. I work in aerospace M-AM and we calibrate our printers to +/- .001" per inch and our grain sizes are 10-45 microns.

Good luck with the ultrasonic cleaner. Once the powder gets wet it will make your day 10x worse

  4. Comment

Powder bed printing isn't as self supporting as it gets advertised, I print complex pieces in copper and the orientation during printing makes a big difference. You also need a connection to the build plate, powder can easily shift during printing and would ruin your print if it wasn't connected somewhere

  5. Comment

I have zero experience with sintering, so this is a blind guess. I always assumed the powder needed to be deposited and slightly compacted to avoid there being air pockets. Any time you sprinkle a light powder into a container it will take up a lot more space until it's either physically compacted or shaken. So if the sintering laser consolidates the powder above an area of loose powder, there's a chance the more dense sintered layer would just collapse. Kind of like walking on/in snow. If it's a loose powder you'll sink, but if the snow fell incrementally and had a chance to melt and refreeze it'll be a layered block that can support a lot more weight.
