Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

So what? Soft forks can cause chainsplits if they don't have sufficient support, more so if they are restrcitive to the current ruleset. After the mandatory signaling day nodes not running the fork will accept signaling blocks, but forking nodes won't accept non-signaling blocks which will fork them out. You people really need to learn how Bitcoin works before trying to make these changes that exists only to keep a narrative alive.

  2. Comment

This is when the real fun begins. The fork fails because it literally has no support, but a few things might happen: legal threats to Core contributors, legal threats to miners, somebody will most likely finally put actual CSAM on chain to scare off people, podcasts on "the capture", books on "the capture". These people are toxic idiots who behave like kids, they will never stop even if their fork fails because it is not about "pRoTeCtInG bITcOIn", it is about identity and control. Being a "pleb" has become their hole identity, and believing that plebs are in control of Bitcoin is a huge part of that identity.

If a fork happen, people holding their keys are able to unlock the wallets of both coins. People leaving their bitcoin on an exchange, don't hold any keys and usually won't get an access to the shitcoin forking out of bitcoin.

  4. Comment

Nothing is going to happen. But, since you're curious, I'll explain what happened with the hard fork to Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Before the fork, people made sure the coins were in their own wallet. As you noted, if your coins are on an exchange they are not in a wallet you own and you won't get the split coins. Once the fork happened, people transferred their coins to another wallet / exchange as a safety precaution. Then they opened their existing wallet in software designed to recognize the forked chain. The forked coins were there waiting for them. They transferred these coins to an exchange and sold them. Either for cash or more BTC. Supposing this fork happens and the minority chain achieves some degree of financial success, this is what you would do to cash out.

what will you do when the fork happens? - So if people left it on exchange when the hard fork happen they will lose the coin? but the one who self custody, they will still have the real bitcoin? genuinenly asking as i self custody myself and dont want to sell ever because of this bip110 stuff going on
