Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I'd give it a thorough cleaning then run a small handful of inexpensive beans through it and discard them. Running beans through will help with any leftover stench/oils stuck to it.

Anyone have any suggestions for cleaning a smell from a grinder? My mom's visiting and naturally the first thing she does is run her flavored coffee beans through my brand new grinder when I'm not looking. Ruined my morning cup, that stink is so intense. For now I've taken the grinder apart to clean it and left it to air out, is there anything else I might do?

You’re definitely not the only one to think office coffee setups are always a battle between “I want good coffee” and “I don’t want to become the loud coffee person in the corner”. A good compromise is pregrinding your beans at home (ideally right before leaving) and using a quieter setup like an AeroPress or Clever Dripper. They’re quick, forgiving, and don’t need a kettle screaming for attention. A small insulated bottle of hot water from home can also work surprisingly well if the office water isn’t hot enough.

as a buyer I was wondering if industry folks could answer: I bought beans from my favorite local spot a couple weeks ago, as I do regularly, and the beans were $18 for 12oz. I've been paying that price for a while and they are good quality beans. Today I bought the same beans and they jumped to $18 for 8oz! That's a huge spike in the price in only a week and a half, it seems completely unreasonable. So folks in the industry, is there anything going on that maybe would cause a temporary huge spike in coffee grounds just in the last week, or are they getting too darn greedy and I need to find a new supplier?

I am more into the amateurish side of the hobby, but I've found that roast is pretty much what kills or makes the experience for me. I mostly drink moka pot, french press and a wacaco nanopresso that is quite convenient for day to day, and eventually I found out that coffee roast and also origin was pretty much what gave acidic, bitter, or sour notes to my coffee. What I did was finding a place where I enjoyed the coffee beans they get, and pretty much haven't switched beans and roast ever since. For bitterness a little bit of salt may help, but I suggest trying to find the beans and roast you enjoy the most
