Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Fair point. You were looking for specifics and I offered none. My apologies. Here is how I learned a lot. \* It all started with a cupping at NOVO. They offer several other classes now but their cupping taught me a ton about roasting and preparation methods and varieties of beans. \* Then I started watching every James Hoffman YouTube video. This was back when he was still an up and comer, and had videos on general stuff. Go back into his videos a few years and watch all the ones on things you don't already understand. \* Then I took this class from Clive Coffee on espresso. I took it online but they have a version in house in Portland. \* Then I went through a year of intense experimentation with my espresso machine, while reading r/espresso pretty religiously. The r/espresso people take coffee more seriously than r/coffee or r/cafe. *\** Somewhere in there I went to the coffee museum in Queensland ( and bought the book *Uncommon Grounds*. Both taught me a lot about the history of preparation techniques.

The advice we got during our classes was just buy beans, grind to preference, prepare them properly (huge), taste them and take notes on the flavors. New World and Old World beans have a real difference. Make sure to get single origin beans because blends will, obviously, have a blend of flavor that make it more challenging to single out

Good question, mostly about the beans in general (?), like what causes the flavor profiles, origins/ what role the region beans are grown in plays, science-y stuff about caffeine content and taste, the “why” behind roasting levels and methods, water temperatures, flavor pairing.. Also best ways to steam milk, latte art, different types of coffee machines..

Best resources for learning about coffee? - I’m always intimidated by people who know the difference between beans based on where they were grown, how they were roasted, etc. I know some basics but am wanting to learn more. Is my best hope just googling/ finding YouTube videos?

One thing nobody says enough: water is 98% of your coffee. You can have the best beans in the world, the best gear, but if your water's calcified to hell or reeks of chlorine, you're toast. I switched my water (just a cheap Brita pitcher, done) and it was a bigger upgrade than when I changed grinders. Not sexy, but it actually matters
