Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Thats a lot of words. I never said it was $3200 more. Never said it was a whole new project. Simply that it was more which is undeniably true. Might want to work on your reading comprehension and maybe some therapy to understand why you like to put words in peoples mouths so you can argue with them.

  2. Comment

🤣🤣🤣. Not $3200 worth. This isn't a whole new project. The floors already removed. This isnt a weeks worth of work. Their guys gonna cut out the several square feet of rot. Grab whatever left over pieces of plywood and 2x8 ,2x10 got in his truck, patch it and be done. Even if removes the drywall ceiling from below to patch the joists, it's only half a days project at that. Maybe a full day if he's actually using picking up, and replacing 4x 8 panels of ply and dry. Maybe $100 in mats max, $50 in fuel and the rest labor /profit. For context a bathroom that small you only needs 1 panel OSB($20)and 1 panel drywall($25), and maybe two 2x10's($50) and liquid nails($5) to replace almost the whole subfloor...$100 in mats/$800 labor max/$2300 profit. Glad you got the money to fund those kinds of projects Mr. Money Bags.

“the contractor showed me soft spots in the subfloor near the toilet flange, rot from a slow leak. Replacing it plus sistering some joists adds $3,200 and about a week.” That’s from the opening paragraph

  4. Comment

It's wood framing, definitely not a basement. But yeah I agree, not a hot take at all. He's trying to recoup. $1000 would be a little high, $3200 is crazy

  5. Comment

$3200 is reasonable....... in Manhattan or downtown San Francisco. If the toilet is going in the same place, it's a crazy price. In his mind he has you by the balls because he started the job, but without more details and pictures everything is speculation.
