   The paint will probably cost within $300, maybe $500 if it needs multiple coats or is a really big room. All the possible tools you might need if you even use something fancy like scaffolding would be under $500 for sure… but the simplest option would probably be like $100… for one person, this would probably take as many as 6-10 hrs. If it’s a large room, it really shouldn’t be more than half this quote.

   Since no one has answered with a numerical value: $500 minimum. I say this because I got a quote or two years ago, subsequently decided to DIY. You may save $$ by doing it yourself, but ONLY if you own the necessary tools. No tools, then hire a handyman or carpenter.

   "Where no door currently exists" is where the biggest variable is, I'd say. Do you mean there's an opening there already and you're adding a door, or you need them to cut a hole in the wall to make space for the door? The answer to that question will impact the cost. I'd estimate anywhere between about $500 and $1,500 depending on where you're located, what the companies charge per hour, and whether they're cutting into a wall or installing in an existing gap/doorway. Could definitely be higher if you're in a high cost-of-living area.
