Is your vacuum hepa filtered? If not, it's likely blowing dust right back through the house. It could also be in the tub, the soil outside, water from old pipes or solder and the hvac system if you have forced air as a few sources. Have you changed the hvac filter, cleaned the ducts? You should be damp cleaning every surface as well.

Lead is one of the things you might be putting in the air, and the other is asbestos. Did your kitchen renovation involve removing vinyl tiles? It's not just the tiles which are dangerous, but the adhesive underneath is made with asbestos and I hope this was not something contributing to that dust. :-X

I’m about 10 years in on a basic Samsung LCD. It’s under a patio cover but subjected to heat and dust, winter gets down to low 30s only. I’m near Sacramento.

Is the unit new or used? There's not much a dehumidifer is doing that would cause a sore throat... 1. Coolant is leaking? 2. Air filter/fan has dust/mold buildup? 3. Plastic packaging left inside the unit that is offgassing when turned on? 4. Coincidence?
