   I have a 5' tiled shower with heads on either side. Each has their own mixer. We love it. I put different types of showerheads on. I personally a fan of the type on a hose. I'll turn both sides on even when alone. I'll have a really warm wide spray on one end to help my back relax. And the other side is a tiny bit cooler to shampoo & condition the hair. When my daughter was little, it was nice because I could shower her in one side while I used the other. I could clip her hose showerhead low, and that's how she learned to shower herself. It shouldn't cost that much to add the second head and mixer. It's not a lot of extra plumbing.

   Get a range hood that does at least 900cfm with baffles instead of mesh. That, or get a hood and go inline with the fan being placed into the rigid vent pipe in the attic and you can go for much higher CFM without sounding like a jet engine throughout the whole house. Cyclone and summit make good range hoods for the money but still expect to pay $500-1000 for hoods with the motors built in. For inline, the installation is more expensive but the parts are much cheaper. Even if you don't use all 900cfm at full tilt, the motor is stronger and they're generally designed more efficiently/robustly so it's quieter at 300-600cfm, more reliable, etc

   I have a 1200 cfm hood. Thing sounds like an airplane taking off when on full blast. I do not have makeup air. I don't think I need it. My place was built in 1905, so it's super drafty. Ninety nine percent of the time, I have it on low, and it works great. No issues. When I generate a ton of smoke, I'll put it on medium, but it's really loud so I only do that temporarily. I don't worry about makeup air. However, on the very few times I had to crank it up to high, I open a window. It would be stupid not to. But what makes the most difference is not the cfm's, but the geometry of the hood. You want a real hood with a real canopy, not a decorative hood. Look at commercial kitchens, you want something like that. No fan is powerful enough to expel all the smoke/vapor as it's being generated. The function of the hood is to trap the vapors and allow the fan enough time to exhaust them. I also think that if you have a 30 inch range you want a 36 inch hood, a 36 inch range a 42 inch hood, etc. The plume of vapor expands as it rises, you want to account for that. And lastly, the size of the ductwork makes a big difference. Think about sucking a milkshake through a straw. It's way harder (and slower) if your straw is too thin. Use the largest ducts you can get away with. Four inch is useless, 6 inch is minimum. I think eight is a good compromise but if you can go 10, that's the ticket. Minimize the bends as much as possible. Two 90 degree elbows, each set at 45 to give you a shallower bend is better than one 90. Shit like that.

   We had a new hood installed before our bigger remodel (still in the works). A Zephyr that can go up to 600 CFM. Because we have no makeup air we crack open a kitchen window if the fan is on high. But that is for things like steak and pasta boiling water. For stocks or sautéing I never set it that high.

The fan is moving air, but it is probably pulling most of it through the gable and ridge vents, so airflow near the lower roof is limited. Once you install enough soffit venting, you would typically close the gable vents and remove or disable the fan, leaving a balanced soffit-to-ridge system.
