   Unless the hallway has an outside wall that won't work. I'd recommend going through the process of researching what will work for you. It will take some time, unless you know alot about HVAC.

   A/C in a house built in 1960 - Alright, getting ahead of the game here. Looking at a house built in 1960, has no forced heat or air, but has a gas fireplace in the main room and baseboard heaters throughout the rest of the house. What would be the best way to go about putting AC and heat in the place? It has a crawlspace but it's very small, I figured I'd either have to put the air handler in the attic and duct it that way or just get a couple of minisplits and put them in the more central spots in the house, i.e. the living room and one in the hallway. Let me know, I don't know much about how people do this .

   It’s just an interior hallway, it’s open so just need it framed into that space. No exterior work/cuts needed. I am in a HCOL area

   How much should I expect to pay for a door install? - I’m going to purchase a pre-framed door and would like to install it in a hallway where no door currently exists. What type of quotes would be reasonable for this work?

   I was given that same price for a small bedroom and hallway. Like you, I asked if it was a typo. Company was a home maintenance company which subcontracts out for everything:roofing, siding, bathroom and kitchen remodel, you name it. Owner explained to me that he had to pay himself, pay his workers, and pay insurance. I went with the middle quote, which was less than a third of that one.
