Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Glad I put a metal roof on.

Install a mini-split in your master bedroom. Best decision I ever made. My first house had a converted roof area and it killed my electric bill trying to keep the whole house cool. My current house has a metal roof (LOVE it....bought it that way. Also, no converted attic anymore) and the master is the farthest room out. I would usually have to keep the rest of the house super cold just to keep the master bedroom cool on a summer night. The mini-split paid for itself within around six months and I can keep that room ice cold on the hottest day.

Back when I Installed the metal roof, there was an energy tax credit related to reflective roofing pigments that can be chosen from metal roofing. So for example, my wife wanted a flat black standing sea metal roof, which would’ve looked handsome on our house, but we ended up choosing a color that most closely resembles a slightly worn out penny. It fell into the list of color pigments that reflect enough sun energy to reduce cooling load in the summer. I’m not sure that tax credit exists any longer, but if I recall correctly, it was worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500. I also removed three layers of asphalt shingles from my home. I’m sure that helped with the amount of weight that was up there. One last thing. I was able to get negotiate a really good price for my roof because it was during the recession in 2008. I think I paid $11,000 for a 2400 square-foot home with 17 1/2 squares on the roof. I have to guess that that same roof would cost double nowadays.

have a metal roof on our house - it’s pretty awesome, never have to think about and can pressure wash the lower parts if the black gets dirty every couple years no ice dams (plus) rain is not loud as others have indicated it might be personal choice, but i’m a fan of

In my experience it seems like cell signal sucks ass after installing a metal roof. So there is that to consider.
