Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I used 2cm quartz about 2” wide. See photo

As a custom kitchen designer and cabinetmaker, I’m so over all the heavy and expensive stone/quartz/solid surface counters. I recently bought an old house with perfectly maintained Formica and I love it. My coffee cup no longer gets cold in less than 30 seconds of sitting on the counter in the morning! Also if you want an undermount sink with laminate, it’s totally doable if you build your particleboard underlay a bit differently. Have them glue up a solid edge of about 4” around the desired sink opening of a matching tone of corian, then lay up the laminate over it all. Just takes a bit of creativity…

Laminate costs have skyrocketted, and stone costs kinda have not, so I mean, I can buy a sheet of formica and some k3 and stuff, and spend a day making countertops, and it comes out to 1000 bucks, or I can have a countertop fab'd up out of stone or or quartz and it's.... 1000 bucks. So I mean, it's totally stupid to be using formica at this point. The "cheap" option ain't cheap, it just... looks cheap.

Redoing kitchen now and doing butcher block. I love the look. I can't see spending that much on granite or quartz, and never want "formica" again. I'm burnt out from the whole process though admittedly. Still coming back from twin hurricanes in 2024. (Sw fl) Single, Farmhouse sink.

I was just going to comment on Corian. I plan to get this when I redo my kitchen. I had it in the past and loved it. I also worked for a contractor back then that did both laminate and corian. It can handle some temperature but anything really hot you need to add a trivet. The one plus it has is that it has no seams and can be repaired. It also feels nice to the touch. I have quartz currently installed by the previous owner and hate it. They used white quartz from Ikea. It stains really easily if you leave something spilled on there for a few hours. I usually have to use something abrasive to get it out. Not sure if this is something specific to IKEA’s version but it’s been a pain with messy people in the house. It also doesn’t handle hot well. My instant pot was hot enough at the bottom to crack mine. I also have ugly seams all over the place.
