   I was given that same price for a small bedroom and hallway. Like you, I asked if it was a typo. Company was a home maintenance company which subcontracts out for everything:roofing, siding, bathroom and kitchen remodel, you name it. Owner explained to me that he had to pay himself, pay his workers, and pay insurance. I went with the middle quote, which was less than a third of that one.

   Question about shower curtains - We hired a contractor to remodel one of our bathrooms in our mid-60s ranch. All three of our bathrooms in general are smaller, which I think is typical for that era and style of home. Given its specific layout and size, we opted for a tub/shower surround with a shower curtain, intentionally, so the bathroom door wouldn’t bang into the shower doors anymore. I haven’t had a shower curtain in years. I remember they stuck to your skin if you didn’t have them secured somehow with magnets or something. With the project wrapping up soon, I am now getting ready to buy things like a shower curtain rod, rings, etc. This may be a dumb question but are there any new advancements or technology in shower curtains that increases ease of use? lol... Or other advice?

   Check to make sure your soffits are opened up. Roofers will still sell you ridge vents and not look to see if you have soffit vents. Also, even if your soffit vents are VENTED, you need to make sure they are really vented. A lot of times during remodels or siding they will just put the soffit vent right over the old wood and not put in any holes. I had to do this around my whole house, even though my soffit was vented, the wood underneath actually was not.

   My remodel was 170+ hours. Ouch.

   If you can remove them when doing a remodel then do. They are hard to clean and just a pain in the butt.
