   You can use washers to keep the screws from going in too far. If they're bottoming out in the tv, they're too long. They should hold the bracket securely without having to tighten them too aggressively.

   Does this seem lined up enough? Also the screws included with the mount are longer than what the TV manual says to use by a few mm

   I cannot figure out what kind of mount it is unfortunately. Also I’m reading the instructions for my TV and it says to use 9.5 to 11.5 mm screws but the screws included with the mount are longer than that, so I’m not sure if it’s even safe to use those screws/this mount

   Do those screws fit in your new tv? You screw the rails to the 4 holes on the back of the tv, then attach the whole thing to the mount. If the screws are a different size, you would need to look up the size that matches your TV and get them from a hardware store. Just don't get ones that are too long.

   I can't even change out a wall outlet. I thought I could but I failed at it. I had a GFCI outlet die so I bought a replacement that also had USB ports. It didn't fit, too deep. Well not exactly too deep, the outlet is in an external box that also has a large wall opening behind it. It's deep enough for the new outlet but the outlet is too wide to allow the incoming power wire to bend behind it. So I buy another box that's 1/4" deeper. Now everything fits. Screwed the box together using two super long screws that barely reach the wall mount. Eventually got them lined up (you have to do it blind). Turned them twice and they don't fall out. Turned one twice more to tighten that screw and it snapped off. I don't know where to buy that size screw and would need to drill its end out of the base plate. So spend $40 (includes shipping) to buy another box to get the screw and base plate or just give up. I gave up. I plugged in a power strip so any plugging/unplugging happens on that strip instead of the poorly secured box. (Wiremold V5751A Steel Exterior Box Adapter)
