Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Pseudo-steam shower concerns - Hello. DIY'ing (most of) my bathroom remodel. I'm not installing a steam unit. But I am having the shower be completely enclosed with the glass going all the way to the ceiling. The walls and floor will be cultured marble (tyvarian). The ceiling is just green mold & mildew resistant drywall and the ventilation fan is a standard 50 cfm located in the shower ceiling. 1. How much/if any waterproofing should I apply to the ceiling? The cultured marble on the walls(not yet installed) just has greenboard behind it per the contractor's instruction. There is no steam unit in the shower, just the option to not turn off the fan to keep the steam produced by the shower head trapped in the shower. 2. When ventilation is desired, should I rely on gaps in the shower door for air ingress? Or have the glass manufacturer cut a porthole that can be open/closed to allow air ingress? Thanks for any and all advice you can provide!

A HERS rater or BPI auditor is the right person; you'll get more from the visit with a week of numbers in hand. The number that sorts causes fastest is dew point, not RH; some hygrometers show it, or an online calculator converts. If indoor dew point sits well above outdoor, moisture is being added inside: showers, cooking, people, the ground. If it roughly tracks outdoor, it's coming in with outside air. Log the basement and a main-floor room separately to see whether the problem lives upstairs. Two free checks meanwhile: hold a tissue to the bath fan grille while it runs; if it doesn't cling, the fan is barely moving air. And how long does your AC run per cycle? My own system logs lots of \~5-minute cooling calls, and runs that short barely get the coil cold and wet before shutting off.

Man, I'd love to redo my bathroom - but it's the only shower we have. So the idea of a DIY that takes 5+ months is a dealbreaker. Partially true for my kitchen too - I know I'm slow and I know it's going to take longer than "normal" - but that's less of an option when the thing you're working on is also something you need to use daily

Of all the places to put towel bars, why inside the shower? That seems like a terrible idea from both a moldy towel and water intrusion perspective. Especially because 'monkey see, monkey do'; I've never seen anyone do that before.

Our initial target was 2-3 weeks. But stuff happens, and the various subs all had other work going on too. We also ran into a situation where the tub filler we initially picked out needed to have prep done during the rough in, but we didn't know it until the tile was down, opened that box only to discover the problem. Had to take that tub filler back for one that could be used without the rough in, etc. That cost us a week. The custom glass for the shower was 2 ½ weeks. That couldn't be properly measured until the demo, tile laid down, and shower tile was in. Just raw materials alone (tile, grout, free standing tub, sinks, plumbing fixtures, custom cabinet, quartzite countertop, etc) that we bought was $19,000+. The contractor supplied the recessed lighting and a few other things.
