Had a squirrel eating my pumpkin seeds as they sprouted. So I made a hardware cloth cage. Little bastard dug under the cage and ate the seeds. So I made a taller cage and buried it six inches deep and over the seeds. That worked and I removed it when the pumpkin sprouts started to vine.
