\-vapor barrier is not recommended for basements, it traps moisture that can lead to mold. \-use ridgid foam panel insulation between the studs. \-regular drywall is fine, 1/2 inch off of the floor. \-strips of cement board or green drywall makes little sense, dont do it.

You are in a HCOL area while everyone responding is from Louisiana. 😂 It's going to cost you a few thousand dollars. You will probably want a nice framed door so maybe try to pick one out before you hire a contractor. The contractor is going to have to cut your current drywall out and frame in a door. Install and hang the door. Then finish around the door and fix up previous drywall and flooring so it looks perfect then texturing and painting. Yes if I'm from Louisiana I just go buy a door from Home Depot and bolt it to a couple of studs but in reality for it to look professional there is a lot more to it than that.

Yes..But.... Not XPS (pink/blue stuff). You likely have a vapor or water barrier on the exterior of your foundation and will want a vapor open solution to avoid trapping moisture in your concrete. I personally have mineral wool installed between studs 1" from our foundation wall. That is a bit more effort though, and not as much R value.

If the plywood is solidly lagged into both studs, mounting the bracket to it is a normal way to center the TV. I’d just verify the lag screws and plywood thickness before reusing it.
