Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I agree with others...create a great Portfolio showcasing your skills. Also, does your resume reflect what you've achieved and done in the form of data?

most of my projects start as a complaint, not an analysis. our compliance refresher existed because one team got the same policy question pinged at them like 40 times a month, and the "data" was just counting those pings before and after. fancy frameworks show up later when someone needs to justify the budget, the real trigger is always someone being annoyed

There's no "one size fits all" answer here. Like you, I also started out in education. Made the shift to ID a few years back. I support a handful of different teams with similar, but not identical, responsibilities. Depending on which team I'm developing for, the needs analysis itself looks very different. Some leaders/SMEs prefer a more formal session, others are more casual. Sometimes the specific training need is complex (thus requiring an in-depth session), other times it's a basic refresher. Pretty much every training we develop though starts with behavior change in mind. For us, this is often helping teams better execute their processes. The data is pulled from QA reporting and leader observations - decent mix of quantitative and qualitative.

What is corporate needs analysis really like? - I'm an educator who is looking to change to ID. I know about theories and how people learn. I have software skills. I can communicate difficult concepts into easy to understand language. What I don't know is what the stuff prior to creating looks like. I just bought Map It! by Cathy Moore, so I'm hoping that will give more insight, but as someone outside of corporate, I feel like any job I see I'd be going in blind, which keeps me from applying. So, what kinds of things do organizations actually need? I know they need compliance training related to their jobs, but that's about it. What are some "hey I need you to do training on this" scenarios you've had and how do you actually gather data to determine the impact your training should have (for example: this training will lower XXX by YYY%)? Every thing I come up with in my head is more of an "information dump" rather than a behavior change scenario.

I can't remember much detail from the Flash Builder and AIR projects, tbh. I recall that we were pulling and pushing data to multiple places.
