As a chef, I see a lot of misinformation about how long food lasts, or what's safe to eat. I see a lot of people throwing out perfectly good and safe food because they have some internal calendar that motivates them to toss it (top comment generalled all food to being tossed after one week). In the end, I don't want to tell people who don't have a sense for this stuff "oh you'll be fiiiine!", but at the end of the day, if it doesn't smell bad or has any kind of mold on it, it's almost certainly fine.
