Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I posted this on another thread, but it seems relevant here.... My wife (55) was diagnosed with EOA a year ago. Her symptoms started before that. Her neurologist denied her the amyloid treatment because she believed it was too late and would not benefit my wife. The tests reveal no genetic cause for her condition (outside of a single copy of the APOE4 gene, but that's not associated with EOA, although I suppose that might be influenced by lifestyle, too). So, I'm left to look elsewhere. (This is where I get to your "all in" question) The doctor is only going to treat symptoms at this point. I firmly believe two major contributions to her condition have been poor sleep habits, and her picky diet (ie. the gut-brain axis). All my efforts have been to diminish those negative influences. So, outside of the usual donepezil and memantine, my wife is on hormone replacement therapy (estradiol patch and progesterone), and I have her on a slew of supplements, we go on near-daily walks, I have her at the local gym twice a week for workouts (including weight lifting) with a personal trainer, and have altered her diet as much as I can (she's still picky). We got her the shingles vaccine in February, and I will request the "high dose" flu vaccine when that comes around again. (she only got the low dose last time) My best description of her condition is "stable", based on my observations. But, it could be that we're not very far after the initial diagnosis, either. As far as when the process of AD started, that was likely 20 years ago. But, I've also seen a couple of things (very recently) that give me some encouragement. She seems more alert, and is putting on makeup (something she hasn't paid attention to in awhile). Whether I'm seeing things I want to see, and if it's related to everything we're doing, or the fact that I increased her Lithium Orotate dose a couple of weeks ago, I can't say for sure. It could be all of the above.

My opinion, based on everything I've read, is that no single solution/treatment has shown to cure or stop the progression of AD because the origin is multi-faceted, and I'm believing the cause starts outside the brain. There is evidence to back that up. That said, my wife (55) was diagnosed with EOA a year ago. Her symptoms started before that. hi, 55 is very young..did you have a full neuropsychological test (4 ish hrs)? This is very atypical...do you have one of the deterministic genes for APP or PSN? I'm a doc with lots of AD in our family so I'm really conversant on the trials etc. What region of country are you? What advice do you want? Best spots to get care? How to handle it once it's really slipping? what are pharm and non- pharm trts? As a lawyer, your cog reserve is high so testing is different. If you have all the $ and time in the world there are some concierge sites that are great. Or if only want to prepare your family for the rough times (get lots of tapes of your favorite tunes from HS and college...those pathways remain longer than others brain regions). I have lots of info....how can I help?

I was diagnosed at 55 as well. I also have CIDP and I’m losing my ability to walk while they try to figure that out. Seems there’s been quite a few of us on here getting diagnosed in our mid 50’s lately.
