Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

In my experience supporting families living with dementia, changes like a new lean to one side, freezing while standing, or sudden collapses are things I would never ignore, especially if they're new or becoming more frequent. While dementia itself can affect balance and mobility as it progresses, a sudden change in walking or repeated falls can also have other causes that need to be assessed, such as an infection, medication side effects, dehydration, low blood pressure, or even another neurological issue. It's good that you're planning to speak with her doctor, but given the falls, I would encourage you to contact them sooner rather than waiting for the next routine appointment. In the meantime, if possible, try not to let her walk unattended, especially later in the day when you've noticed the leaning starts. Keeping pathways clear and having someone nearby during transfers or walking can help reduce the risk of injury until she's been evaluated. I hope you're able to get some answers soon. Wishing the best for both of you.

Yes, exactly. Now it is time to find your substitute decision partners. It may be a trusted family member, doctor, lawyer, elder care, etc. it may be three or four people with different expertise. I was extremely lucky. My son in law is a radiologist, and my daughter in law has a masters degree in special ed. She has been so helpful teaching me how working around keeping the peace with someone with a brain disorder. With their help, I have been able to get good advice making changes for my husband and myself. There is no way around this most awful disease.

When my spouse had dementia, the doctor, early on, while things could still be explained, told us how if someone driving with dementia got into an accident, we could lose everything through a lawsuit. That really helped and needless to say, I drove us home. Later as explanations were harder, the keys had long been hidden.

I took my mom international earlier this year, and it went really well! We did a short two nights, which I think 2-3 nights is the sweet spot. She did great, I packed everything for her and had plenty of entertainment with books and games and she didn’t need any of it. If your LO is still able to function fairly well, then I say take the trip. She still remembers aspects of it, which is great, and really enjoyed it during the trip. I did speak to her doctors first so always check with them and make sure they’re comfortable with it

Why aren't there more programs to help elderly/Alzheimer's Patients - Almost every person in Congress or the White house is elderly. If there not one day they will be. But yet and still there is no or not enough support for elderly. Doctors, Insurance, Medication, Facilities whether it be long term care or Memory Care. And Im not talking about a government stinky dirty nursing home. Why isn't the elderly treated with respect? They work all their lives and for what to be treated like trash. None of this makes sense. **I WISH I HAD A VOICE/PLATFORM TO BE HEARD. I don't hear nor do I see any Government official doing anything about this issue and this is a huge issue and it effects everyone one way or another.**
