   Thank you for reply. I found the donepezil helped a little in the first couple of weeks (accompanied by vivid dreams, which have now ceased). I am due to double the dosage shortly. Based on my experience, I expect marginal improvement with an increased dosage, but time-limited to some weeks. I’ll ask about adding memantine whenever the neurologist calls me in again- perhaps in six months.

   Thanks for sharing. I'm sorry to hear that donepezil wasn't effective for you. Did you try increasing the dose? I've started it but don't feel anything from it yet. It has only been about 2 weeks so the verdict is still out. My neuro spoke of adding memantine if needed. I'm scheduled to meet with what the University of Chicago calls a "memory specialist" in mid-November to determine whether infusions might help. Time will tell.

   My mom was loosing her appetite and weight(128 to 102) due to appetite issue with donepezil, after much research I found that there was an appetite stimulant pill called mirtazapine, after a few months at 30 mg, she's eating me out of house at home, this past months weigh in is the first weight gain (+4) in 2 years.

   Is she on Donepezil or aricept? I know those can cause eating issues. Can she have cannabis? Might help with a few things 🤪🙈

   This is interesting. 6 months ago my neurologist recommended the Benfotamine supplement for me. He said he was taking it and it helped with the “ fuzzy cloudiness “ he was experiencing. I’ve been taking 2/day , 300mg. Each = 600mg. per day. I am doing very well mentally and memory wise. I have also been taking Memantine and Donepezil for almost 3 years. My progression has been snail like. I’m doing better now than 3 years ago, and yes, things have changed but I’m still independent and capable of doing daily activities. Why? No clue. But I’ve done everything my neurologist has suggested, educated myself on AD, changed many personal and lifestyle habits and am just thankful for my health. (M75) diagnosed 3 years ago with AD.
