Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Is your dad symptomatic? I do want to say that as a 34yo with a mom with early onset I really am letting myself believe that treatment will be here in the next 20 years. Probably not reversal but treatment and early detection might save some of us.

Mother was diagnosed with early onset in 2020 (age 63) and I'd say she went through the stages pretty darn fast. She's in a home today but she's quite unable to hold coherent conversation, share a thought or even feed herself - she literally spends all day wandering up and down the halls. Steepest progression probably happened in year 3-4 of the diagnosis - that's when the incontinence and insomnia started to kick in and, with that, the start of perhaps the hardest period I've ever experienced in my life. Reflecting back on everything today, right now even, stirs up bittersweet emotions in remembering what we all went through to try our best to care for her.

I think it really varies— as they say, “if you’ve seen 1 case of Alzheimer’s, you’ve seen exactly 1 case of Alzheimer’s.” The stages are also not 100% definitive. But in my mom’s case, she was diagnosed with early onset in 2020 (56yo), seemed around stage 5ish then. 2021 and she no longer knew who I was. Now here we are in 2026 and she is around 7c/d (although she does have trouble holding up her head). I don’t know how much longer she has, I only hope that she isn’t in pain and can stay free of infections.

Thank you. There seem to be a few of us with LOs with early-onset. 62 is far too young 💔 Wishing you well on your journey too as well.

I'm going through this exact grief with my mom. She has early-onset and she's 64. I was hoping so much she'd make it to her 65th birthday on November 3rd, but she's entered what looks like the end stage. (I never understood any of the stages honestly.. It's been a roller coaster) She's bedbound now, and hospice caretakers come every day. It only took about a year to get here, and it's been incredibly hard. But now, at this stage, I'm really feeling it. I miss my mom every single day. She's barely eating, if at all, and she sleeps about 85% of the time. When she's awake, she's either panicking, which we sometimes manage with Ativan, or just staring blankly. She tries to talk, but it's so hard to understand her. I truly believe she still feels the love and care we give her. Love is the greatest vibration, and I can feel her trust when I give her water or something to drink. Even if she can't express it anymore, I believe some part of her knows she's loved. I miss my mom so much, and I know exactly what you're going through. Watching someone you love slowly disappear while they're still physically here is a grief I wouldn't wish on anyone. 🙏💙
