   Two years \*is\* a long time, and it does suck to watch and wait. It's a hard balance between wanting him to go because I know that is what he would want for himself, and wanting to take the best care of him that I can, because, even though I know his wishes, and I wholeheartedly and fervently agree with those wishes, he's right there, and he needs feeding, cleaning, changing, and someone to just look him in the eyes with a little bit of love. I try so hard to do all that the best I can, but I also hope for his end every day. There's no reconciling that.

   Grandma with dementia car accident - This is just a vent but I have felt so alone in my grief recently and it feels like no one has experienced this. A few years ago, my grandmother who had severe dementia stole my grandfathers car and accidently killed a man with it. She ran him over and didn’t stop. I have been living with this since the accident and I haven’t heard of anyone else who has expirenced something even remotely similar. I feel guilty over the accident every day even though I know there wasn’t anything I could do. I feel like I’m basically the only person besides members of my family who have had to deal with something like this. It was just such a freak accident. Does anyone have any similar stories or past expirences? I just want someone to understand. Honestly just looking to trauma bond lol.

   I simply can't... but he refuse to listen me, he insist I'm enough tô do all this task everyday. I can't. I'm in the end of the line.

   My mom won’t even talk to her neighbors in her facility… I remind myself that most dementia sufferers don’t interact with others every day. Happy for OP but realistic that it’s not typical.

   I second the chocolate! I get the dark choc at Aldi now for him and we make a big deal of our treat every day. Gotta find some bright spots
