Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Because in her head right at that moment she is apparently only approximately 4 or 5. 😁 😀 😃 👧

I think it really varies— as they say, “if you’ve seen 1 case of Alzheimer’s, you’ve seen exactly 1 case of Alzheimer’s.” The stages are also not 100% definitive. But in my mom’s case, she was diagnosed with early onset in 2020 (56yo), seemed around stage 5ish then. 2021 and she no longer knew who I was. Now here we are in 2026 and she is around 7c/d (although she does have trouble holding up her head). I don’t know how much longer she has, I only hope that she isn’t in pain and can stay free of infections.

How quickly did your loved one progress through the stages of Alzheimer’s? - My father had a stroke in 2022, and he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2025. For a while, he seemed to be progressing relatively slowly. I would say he was somewhere around stage 2–3, and then, very suddenly, almost overnight, everything changed and he declined significantly. He was on quite an extensive medication regimen, and he used to drink one or two beers occasionally with his medication. I know alcohol is not recommended, but he was still walking independently, and I honestly believe that staying active and walking helped slow things down for a while. He is now in a care home. My mother went through absolute hell taking care of him at home. At one point, he fell and hit his head and suffered a concussion, and after that things became even more difficult. He started experiencing hallucinations and paranoia. His walking has improved somewhat since then, and he eats normally, but mentally he gets very lost. Most of the time he doesn’t recognize us, although sometimes he suddenly comes back to himself and seems completely normal for a while. I went through something similar with my grandfather, his dad, but his decline was much faster. He lost his wife, and I believe the shock of her death affected him tremendously. After that, everything went downhill, and he passed away only about three months later. Alzheimer’s is, in my opinion, one of the hardest diseases to watch someone go through. It breaks your heart because the person you know is still there somewhere, but you slowly lose pieces of them. One of the hardest moments for me was when my father took my hand and stroked it. For a few seconds, it felt like my dad was completely there again. For those who have been through the different stages of Alzheimer’s: how much time usually passes between the stages?

Our loved one does this, too. We tried giving her prescription sleep aids but then she fell in the bathroom in the middle of the night and that was horrible. We have double cylinder deadbolts on all doors leading to the exterior. Some of us in the family are night owls so if we see her up, we redirect her to bed. We point out that it's dark, it's time for bed. She also sleeps in a hospital bed with a slight elevation at the head and a TV near the foot of her bed. Sometimes watching a relaxing YouTube channel keeps her in bed at night.

Wed Red Therapy - Just took delivery of the Coronet Duo plus the CoroNose and CoroEar. The Mrs has just had 2 sessions so far. 24/9 am and 24/9 pm. Following recommendations, head first, ear next, nose last. I'll report back here as we progress. I'm using this too, but only once a day. Wish us well. PS Sorry I stuffed up the subject line. The cost for Aussies is more than reasonable. We paid A$2095 for the trio, delivered. Tassie to Camberwell, Victoria was less than a week,
