Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

The falling for scams gives me anxiety for some reason. The whole dementia thing keeps me up at night. It’s funny, I’m a nurse & I’m well aware of dementia , but it’s my mother & it hits different. To see her change like this is just a lot. I think I need to see a social worker. I never expected to feel this way. We never got along & she was pretty narcissistic & all I want to do is save her. I’m shook.

I would start by asking the neighbors; find out who's known her the longest or knows for the best; they might have more information about her next of kin. for practical reasons (you are probably already doing this but just in case, I'd rather just say it) be sure you are paying your rent to her with checks. take a picture of those checks - I don't know how she's going to possibly handle you paying her rent with a check if she can't drive but start there - the reason I'm not saying a signed receipt is someone could easily accuse you of befuddling her into it. (because you might be surprised that she does have next of kin with an interest) you may need to find a social worker to help you with this problem, alternatively start with the Alzheimer's associations and look into their communities and forums, someone else has undoubtedly run into this issue and/or will know what resources you need. ask her who her doctor is because it's time for your annual physical and you'd rather use someone she trusts... and you can look them up and seriously give them a heads up about what's going on - they probably have her in case of emergency contact info and can contact them. I'm sorry I can't offer more than that, lots of people here will have great advice. you're a very Noble and Kind soul to seek out how to operate in both of your best interests, too many opportunists would take this opening.

Call hospice. They are a Godsend! My mom lives with my husband and I. My mom thinks we broke into a house and shouldn't be here. Or either we are at her grandma's house. My mom is 89. Can't stand on her own anymore. Can't get up on her own. She is delirious. She was recently admitted to hospice care. She still lives with us. They sent a hospital bed for us A cna comes 3 days a week to wash her. A nurse comes every Friday. A social worker comes. A chapla felt like I was drowning before. Their help is amazing. They provide needed health supplies. They help. They are wonderful. Most amazing people Ive ever met in my life.

Your local Alz Assn may have social workers available by appointment to talk to, at no cost. They were really helpful in game planning back when we were in this stage

I only have experience with my parents who have both been diagnosed within the last 2 years. They both take Aricept. My mom shared with me that after the doctor called to tell her the diagnosis, she felt very distraught & alone. She felt scared, like, what now? I think after the diagnosis, a social worker or similar should follow up with people immediately to guide them or give emotional support. 4 weeks after her diagnosis she ended up in the ER on a psych hold for suicidal feelings she expressed to her physical therapist.
