   denial is a symptom for sure.. i wouldn't buy into she only has two yrs left. With a diagnosis you should be able to get a prescription. I reached out to Alpha Cognition (makers of ZUNVEYL)- they were a big help w getting insurance to cover it.

   So glad to hear about your positive experience with Zunveyl! I’ve never even heard of it(about to do a little research,constantly). They put my wife(54 then) on it initially and it was like poison! Doc said it’s their first go-to bc of insurance. Switched to rivastigmine patch to no no side effects.    I would say yes. We did extensive research on this. A 10 yr SveDem study in Sweden concluded that the results were unusually favorable for galantamine (ZUNVEYL is a new formulation of galantamine with no side effects). In the propensity-matched cohort of 11,652 cholinesterase-inhibitor users vs 5,826 untreated AD patients: Mortality: galantamine was associated with a 29% lower risk of death vs untreated patients. Progression to severe dementia: galantamine was associated with a 31% lower risk. Cognitive decline: galantamine had the strongest association with preserved cognition of the three ChEIs, +0.18 MMSE points/year relative to untreated patients. Critically, galantamine was the only ChEI associated with a statistically significant reduction in progression to severe dementia; that wasn't observed for donepezil or rivastigmine. You're buying time here- if there is even a 20% chance that in 8 yrs there is breakthru- that won't mean much if my mother isnt alive.
