Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I honestly wouldn't bother worrying about anti-aging anything until you hit your 30's. Even then, there's not much that's proven to actually help outside of retinoids and sunscreen. I have premature wrinkles/fine lines from constant stress and inflammation and even then, retinol doesn't do shit to help them. It will help with your overall skin texture, though, and I think it's fine to start using it in your late 20's if you don't need it for acne. Just focus on UV protection and hydration, maybe a vitamin c serum. The rest is just for fun.

Of course! Also fwiw, one time I accidentally bought the anti wrinkle version of a Sana eye cream with retinol and soy isoflavones. I was nervous about using it because I really just wanted something for itchy/dry winter eyelids and was already using adapalene which is a retinoid, but I had zero problems with skin irritation. I think a lot of Asian beauty products don’t use very high concentrations of retinoids or acids, so the irritation potential for most people is probably lower than a lot of American products

I didn't start using anti aging products until my late 20s or so. Currently 53 and my oily skin is looking pretty good if I do say so myself. Full disclosure: youthful skin runs strong in my mom's family, and both my sibling and I inherited those genes. Oh, and we are POC. Eventually, I learned: to give products a month or more to see any results (it takes about that long for your skin to turn over, longer if you're middle aged like me); less product is more; staying out of the sun (and tanning bed) and wearing good quality sunscreen prevents age spots, wrinkles, and fine lines; and it doesn't have to cost a ton of money. Another thing I learned about skin care that I wish more people understood: Skin care merely slows down the ravages of time, it doesn't stop or reverse it. No matter how many magical creams and serums I apply, I will never regain the plump radiance of my 20s and 30s, and that's ok with me. This is my routine, and it is working well for me at 53 with no wrinkles or lines: AM * CeraVe Cream to Foam cleanser * Missha Time Revolution FTE 5x toner/essence (I decant into a fine mist spray bottle) * Remedy Vitamin C serum * Muji Moisturizing Milk Light * Kose Sekkisei Herbal UV Defense Gel SPF 40 or Drmtlgy Matte Universal Tinted Moisturizer SPF 46 PM * Remedy Derm Dissolve Cleansing Balm to remove sunscreen and makeup * CeraVe Cream to Foam cleanser * Missha Time Revolution FTE 5x toner/essence * innisfree Green Tea Korean PDRN Serum with Retinol & Hyaluronic Acid * Muji Moisturizing Milk Light or Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre

I don't deny that many replies in this post are correct that peptides haven't really been studied enough and could be money you don't need to spend. That said "peptides" is an incredibly broad term (like "probiotics") that doesn't mean much and is often used for marketing. The peptides that are studied more (still developing research) are usually signaling peptides that basically send a collagen SOS signal. Examples are matrixyl, matrixyl 3000, argiraline for expression lines, potentially copper, etc. Dr. Aleksandra Brown is a dermatologist that has a whole educational series on peptides available online (Instagram, Pinterest, etc) if you want to know more. Currently recommended for more mature skin (ie 35+). Each dermatologist has their own personal guidelines, but recommendations are usually along the following vein: Morning: Optional cleanser (oily), Vitamin C, Moisturizer, SPF Evening: Cleanser, Retnoid, Moisturizer Anything beyond is generally personal preference or based on treating specific skin concerns like rosecea, hyperpigmentation, acne, wrinkles, etc. Retnoids come in different strengths. Simplified, retinol is the weakest/least irritating, then retinal, then adapalene, then prescription like tretinoin. If you don't want a retnoid don't do one. But if you do, starting with a gentle retinol that has calming ingredients or supplementing with a serum designed to calm the skin / boost skin barrier will help avoid irritation. (Plus the typical PEA-SIZED amount and start once a week, working up to at least 3x a week or it's not doing much) Alternatively lot of people do what's called a "retnoid sandwich" in which you moisturize, Retnoid, moisturize again because deeply hydrating helps avoid irritation as well.

I started retinol at 25. It was great I was dealing with a lot of acne and I didn’t mind the “anti aging”
