Weekly Crowdfunding Roundup: October 4, 2026 | 37 ending soon ("Baba Is You & Party House", "Tend: Hive & Cellar Expansions"), 11 late pledge ("Gods & Mortals", "Ronin's Revenge") & 25 new ("The Lord of the Rings™: The King’s Gambit", "Conan", "Dark Tomb: Lost Temple of Zor") - ## What is this? This is a weekly roundup of board game crowdfunding projects, featuring new launches from the past week and campaigns ending in the coming week. The information is sourced from Kickstarter, Gamefound, and Backerkit. The list is curated through a combination of automated data collection and manual review, so occasional errors or omissions may occur. If you notice a missing project, feel free to mention it in the comments. Only projects meeting the selection criteria outlined below are included. ## Other channels Other than Reddit, you can also find this list on the following platforms: - Google Docs - Mastodon - Bluesky ## Selection Criteria Projects must meet the following conditions to be included: 1. **Timing:** The project was either launched in the last week or will end in the coming week. 2. **Relevance:** The project is directly related to board games. - Excludes: Accessories not strongly related to board games, furniture, RPGs (e.g., D&D, Pathfinder), video games, STLs, painting tools, events, podcasts, and magazines. - Exception: Projects offering promos or similar content for board games are eligible. 3. **Backers:** The project is expected to reach at least 100 backers by the end of the campaign. 4. **Funding Status:** - The project is expected to reach at least 90% of its funding goal. - The project has already achieved at least 20% of its funding goal. In addition to the main lists, I include a separate section for noteworthy projects that don’t strictly qualify as board games. These projects are included based on a single criterion: 1. **Backers:** The project currently has more than 1,000 backers. ## Crowdfunding is not a store Crowdfunding is not a guarantee. Projects may face delays, incur additional shipping costs, or fail to deliver entirely. Creators are not obligated to fulfill their promises. While many excellent games are funded this way, the risks are real, only back projects with money you can afford to lose. Be wary of creators who use FoMO (Fear of Missing Out) tactics to drive pledges. Don’t let the pressure get to you. If you miss a campaign, there will always be others. There's no shortage of excellent board games to enjoy. ## Tags Each project is tagged with one or more of the following categories: - 🌱 Creator's First Project - 🌳 Creator with more than 5 projects - 🌟 Featured Project (e.g. Kickstarter "Staff Pick") - 💰 Fully funded - 🔥 More than 200 daily backers - 🤝 Offers refunds (e.g. Stable Pledge) --- ## Ending Soon (37) | Name | Description | Backers | Pledged | Ends | Information | Tags | BGG | |---|---|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:|:---:| | Baba Is You: The Board Game & Party House: Deckbuilding Game | Two sensational award-winning video games — Baba is You and Party House \(UFO 50\) — leap off the screen and onto your table! | 7,179 | $629.7k (4197.9%) in 19 days | 2026-10-09 | 💸 Kickstarter 👤 Nick Murray o… 👥 2 ⏱️ 45min | 🌳🌟💰🔥 | BGG | | Tend: Hive & Cellar Expansions | Two new expansions for the highly-acclaimed & strategic cozy farming game. | 5,048 | $935.1k (1870.1%) in 19 days | 2026-10-07 | 🚨 Bad rep 💸 Gamefound 👤 IV Studio 👥 1‑6 ⏱️ 60‑90min 📦 Expansion 🧘 Solo | 💰🔥🤝 | BGG | | Pincer: A Gentleman's War | A 2–4 player, turn-based strategy game set in the 18th century, where players compete to build powerful empires across a hex-based map. | 3,019 | $304k (506.7%) in 33 days | 2026-10-06 | 💸 Kickstarter 👤 Julian Birke 👥 2‑4 ⏱️ 90‑180min | 🌱💰 | BGG | | Onryō: First Seal | A cooperative 1-5 player strategy game where Ninjas use their skills to seal a vengeful spirit. | 3,011 | $41.7k (834.6%) in 20 days | 2026-10-08 | 💸 Kickstarter 👤 Lemery Games 👥 1‑5 ⏱️ 15‑30min 🧘 Solo 🤝 Cooperative | 🌳🌟💰 | BGG | | Catvale: The Board Game with Claws! | A strategic adventure game where rival cats explore, build, quest and clash for pride in a modular, ever-changing world. | 2,644 | €348.5k (1742.3%) in 26 days | 2026-10-08 | 💸 Kickstarter 👤 FUdice 👥 2‑6 ⏱️ 90‑180min 🧠 2.8/5 | 🌱🌟💰 | BGG | | Rat Queens - A Co-Op Tower Defense Boss Battler! | From Rat Queens creators Kurtis Wiebe & Roc Upchurch and designed by Sen Foong-Lim and Erica Bouyouris! Level 7 Omega Protocol (I own it) shares very little with Nemesis Retaliation. Level 7 is a 1 vs many dice chucker that always has 1 player as an adversary controlling the board state. Nemesis Retaliation is a semi-coop game with a longer play time and doesn't play anything like Level 7 as the game still has an event system and NPC aliens popping up to fight. Very different games aside from their sci-fi aesthetic!

We added a "Friendship Ruiner" Joker rule to Sequence to break the fast pace. It is wonderfully chaotic. - My group was getting a bit bored of the standard, fast-paced rhythm of vanilla Sequence, so we decided to intentionally disrupt it to create longer games with heavy table talk. We shuffled Jokers into the deck (you can add anywhere from 1 to 6 of them, depending on how badly you want to test your friendships). We’ve playtested this, and it is incredibly fun. It makes the game last longer and brings out massive, loud reactions from every single player at the table. Here is how the Jokers work. If you hold one, you can use it for one of two incredibly toxic abilities: 1. The Swap: You can remove any opponent’s chip from the board and replace it with your own. Crucial rule: You cannot swap a chip that is already part of a locked-in, completed sequence. 2. The "No": You can play it out of turn to cancel any card played by an opponent. Their played card is immediately discarded with no effect on the board. The Joker also cancels out One-Eyed and Two-Eyed Jacks. The Catch: If you use the Joker as a "No" out of turn, you forfeit your actual turn for that round. Having an out-of-turn interrupt completely changes the vibe of the game. People are constantly on edge waiting for a "No" to drop, which was exactly the reaction-heavy experience we were looking for. Has anyone else introduced interrupt mechanics into standard turn-based games? Are there any other tweaks you’d add to this rule to make it even more interesting?

Get a couple of folding card tables - 34 x 34. If you are playing a smaller game use 1, a larger game set up both. Get a 60 inch playmat to roll out to hide the seam. When you aren’t gaming fold up the tables. I’ve been where you are, friend. Small place, no room. That was my solution.
