Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

>Arkham Horror 2e is closest to Eldritch Horror but more luckier and it feels like you have less control. My impression was the exact opposite. I though EH is 2/3 AH 2E and 1/3 TotAN. Namely EH has less control (because of stuff that has been removed but exist in AH 2E) and is more of a rollercoaster ride. AH 2E felt way more focused, because there's a the shared city location (instead of being lost on the globe) and because the tension is more pressing. There's more urgency. >but in Arkham 2e its more unclear how you can achieve your objectives Huh? I don't want to be guided thought the game like a 6 year old. That's the point of co-op - to figure shit out. 😄 > sometimes doesn’t quite feel like you are progressing. That is a feature, not a bug. Because then you can focus on the story of your character. And check the safe locations. This is an absolute must for this game to work. >You are just as likely to win/lose within 2 hours as you are to win/lose in around 5-6 hours. Also known as "emergent" part of "emergent narrative". This exactly means the game is replayable on the narrative level and one doesn't need 3-4 expansions for that (one can still get them for other reasons) > The one thing thats most different is fiddling around with your stats to do certain action which feels like its giving you more control No, it doesn't not feel like. It actually gives more control. >but in reality its still down to luck whether you win or not. I'm sorry, it's 2026 and hobbyists still don't understand how probability equation works? It's in high school curriculum. Also - if you care about winning AH2E you're missing on 2/3 of the game. Playing AH 2E to win, means you should be playing Pandemic instead as for such mindset AH 2E will be just a clunky Pandemic that is 4 times too long. The point of AH 2E is to play it as a vehicle for in character immersion, for immersion into the world and atmosphere. You want to win, play Brass or something. >I would approach it more like Vantage or Arabian Nights where you are just having fun discovering what horrors awaits. Yes but no. AH 2E has a dramaturgy of tension and push towards conclusion which TotAN doesn't have ( I mean both are great, just very different beasts). Yes, it is a narrative ride - but one with built in tension that points towards conclusion. >Eldritch really streamlined all of those fiddly rules Yeah, a lot of work was done to trim 30 minutes from a 4 hour game and lose 75% of tension in the process. 🤦♂️😄 I mean I like EH, it's a cool rollercoaster, but "really streamlined" isn't what is it. "Miniscule amount of streamlining "would be more appropriate. 😄

I played and own the base game and expansions of all the following and heres my thoughts: Arkham Horror 2e Eldritch Horror Mansions of Madness 2e Arkham Horror 3e Arkham Horror Card Game 1e (most expansions until they revised it) The LCG and Arkham Horror 3e differs quite a lot to Arkham Horror 2e even though they have the same name. 3e is more of a pandemic style puzzle and LCG is more of a deck construction game. As far as what it feels like playing them, LCG and 3e are much more focused on telling a coherent story within their scenarios and you really get to feel the narrative progress. Second edition doesn’t really do that. Arkham Horror 2e is closest to Eldritch Horror but more luckier and it feels like you have less control. It’s much more of a sandbox experience of finding horrible things happening to you. In Eldritch Horror you need to focus on certain things to meet an objective, but in Arkham 2e its more unclear how you can achieve your objectives and so its more swingy and sometimes doesn’t quite feel like you are progressing. You are just as likely to win/lose within 2 hours as you are to win/lose in around 5-6 hours. The one thing thats most different is fiddling around with your stats to do certain action which feels like its giving you more control but in reality its still down to luck whether you win or not. I would approach it more like Vantage or Arabian Nights where you are just having fun discovering what horrors awaits. Second edition also is extremely fiddly with many user made guides and flowcharts to remind you of what you need to do based on expansion rules. There’s too much convoluted “if this happens then that otherwise this” type of rules so you end up forgetting to do things to upkeep the game without a flowchart. Eldritch really streamlined all of those fiddly rules so I am curious how they approach that in Remastered edition.

I blame Lynx. For years they've pushed the narrative that it makes you smell great so half the male population uses it (also the ever popular Christmas gift sets). Lasts maybe 2 hours then it's just that BO smell coming through, made worse by hot convention halls where people spend the day walking about and getting sweaty.

I've tried a lot of those, and aside from Demon Eyes, none of the other ones are actually... Entertaining to me. I can't sit through 2 hours of just a game. I need some jokes or some bits. Maybe it's lack of familiarity, but I don't think so because I couldn't get too into Becca Scott's BOTC content either, and I'm very familiar with many of the people in those games. I think NRB hits the sweet spot of humor while still taking the game seriously. Whereas Ben Burns' stuff usually isn't that funny, and something like Becca's content has too many inexperienced players.

I wonder if that's the same storm that hit me. 118mm in 2 hours. I also suffered flooding and wasn't at home to do anything about it. Luckily, my board games were 1cm higher than the water level in the basement. But now my finished basement is all ripped out and I'm living in a crushing ant colony of shelves on the main floor that had to be evacuated upstairs. Losing BSG hurts.
