Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

A limited resource pool between rounds means you have to pay much more attention to your opponents’ boards and read their strategy on what they will take, so that you can defend yourself to not get stuck with a bunch of negative penalties. Unlike in the other games, you can’t just pray that a resource combination of what you’ll need will miraculously be drawn. The remaining resources in Azul is actively affected by the other players’ decisions. So knowing what they are trying to prioritize will help you make higher/lower tempo actions to go aggressive or play defensive. The changing resource pool from a misread will force re-evaluation of not just your own strategy, but the others’ as well, which means you need to also be aware of when they adapt, and change your strategy accordingly.

Azul, Resistance: Avalon If i were to recommend games that are slightly different to the 1s above, but hopefully still something you'd like? Any Reiner Knizia- Quest for El Dorado, Ra/High Society (if you like auction), Through the Desert? A dudes on a map- Inis or Kemet maybe

It’s because of the relationship between the goals, the board and the market and how they interact. * Azul: All players have the same board and the same goal and they are fighting over the same resources to try to fill spaces of the same board pattern, so it’s important to keep a close eye on the tile market. Because of that, despite being a multiplayer solitaire, you have to be strategic and a hate-drafter which makes it seem more interactive than the other games mentioned, even if it’s indirectly. Also, unlike the other games, the market is not renewed every turn but every round which makes the drafting phase even tighter. Tiles get scarce as you go. What makes Azul even more interesting is the tile storing mechanism on the left side of the board which conditions player’s decisions even further. * Cascadia: Goals are variable but they are general for all players. What makes this different is that there is no pattern board to fill but open tile-laying on the table, so even though all objectives are the same for all players, tightness is reduced due to lack of a pattern board like Azul and this dilutes hate-drafting too. In Azul you’re like “Shit, he took the exact pieces I needed, guess I’m screwed now” and in Cascadia it’s more like “Wew, he took the pieces I wanted, guesss I‘ll build something else”. Because there are different objetives going on, you can easily pivot to make points in a different way. Also, unlike Azul or Harmonies, you can use special tokens to refresh the market and choose your preferred pair of landscape and animal and this makes the game even looser. Unlike Harmonies, goals are possible paths to follow, rather than personal tasks to complete. * Harmonies: The most solitary game of these. Goals are not general for all players but instead players draft their own goal cards, so every player is essentially playing under different self-imposed conditions and you don’t really feel you’re competing against your opponents but rather completing tasks. Since goals are the highest thing to pursue in a game, the fact they’re personal and completed on individual boards makes the game feel more solitary than the other two. Unlike Cascadia, it has a board but it’s not patterned like Azul, rather you’re allowed to place whatever you want (a middle ground between the two approaches). The market forces you to draft tiles you don’t even need or want which sometimes happens in Azul but happens a lot more often in Harmonies. The annoying feeling of “what do I do with this piece now?” is far more frustrating and common here and it’s the nature of the game itself screwing your draft rather than other hate-drafting players like Azul. The stacking puzzle is tight but when combined with the rest of game, the game lacks meaningful interaction overall. In descending order of interaction: Azul > Cascadia > Harmonies. The goals, the board, and the market. General or personal, open or closed, tight or loose, static or dynamic, scarce or ever-flowing. Depending on how you design them, you’ll get a different experience, even if on a high level the games have a similar concept.

Azul's decision space is far more constrained than Harmonies and Cascadia. The fact that there are negative points at all, and you can force your opponents into negative points, makes it far more interesting. It's still not direct player interaction, but it's at least got more interesting decisions than those two multiplayer solitaire games.
