Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

For something casual? Welcome to the neighbourhood. For something 4.5/10 complexity, smallworld (scored as such because of the plethora of tokens, but once you know what they all mean on sight then its rather simple) For something that would be in the same spirit as betrayal house on the hill, and i think about as complex as brass birmingham (though i havent played brass, just heard its pretty complex) Nemesis could be fun. You play as a couple of semi stranded people on a spaceship thats malfunctioning. You each have goals, and have to achieve them quietly, because too much noise will attract aliens to break into the ship (and those mfers can FIGHT). Some goals are directly opposed to each other.

Container, like many great games, is not complex so much as it is deep. Player driven economies are a difficult concept to grasp and this one is fragile, so if you don’t really know what you’re doing you could unwittingly play kingmaker. All of that is fine if you don’t mind completely screwing up, learning from your mistakes, and playing again (and again, and again). This kind of nuance and replayability used to be a virtue, but with today’s hobby gaming audience it’s a hard ask.

I feel like I wish I played more co-op games when I was just starting out. Castle Panic or Forbidden Island series. Pandemic the original is good. I haven’t played the remake but it looks more complex. Spirit island is hard but worth it later down the road.

What you shouldn't do is try to jump straight to the most popular strategy titles in the BoardGameGeek top 100. These are largely heavy, complex games and the step up is significant. Bridge the step up in complexity by going with some of the recommendations others have given here.

I started playing ticket to ride and carcassonne with my kids at 5. The full game not the child one - usually the full game isn’t much more complex and it is easy enough to adjust. Now my children and 9 and 10 and their favorite games are spirit island, slay the spire, and feast for Odin.
