Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

If a company made 50,000 copies of the "goodies" but only had 25,000 backed by backers, would you really be upset if the other 25,000 goodies were given out to others for free? Personally, I'd be happy that more people got more stuff for their games. Real quick edit: I'm just using that as an example, not saying that's what happened and why folks at a con got the exclusive goodies as well.

I backed it and was pointing it out to my friends explaining while I'm disappointed i understand their thought process. Its a huge con for games and getting it in more people's hands while showing it off is good for the long term success of the game what I think they could have done is implemented a system where those who kickstarted could still get it in person as that still let's the game get shown and gets it in the hands of at least some backers first.

I got it at like 3:00 today with only an hour left of the con. I'm guessing they didn't want to ship any back and we're fire saleing the last couple copies. (There were <10 left)

They literally said they air-shipped them over at extra cost. They likely speedrushed a small-batch production line just for the con. You are right, it was a business decision. But you are wrong, these aren't just extra copies. They were always going to do this move. They just wanted Kickstarter money to fund their development costs.

That's been happening since forever. I backed Sub-Terra. The publisher got raked over the coals when they took stock to sell at a con in Europe before backers got their copies. There were other issues with that one too though, beyond that. I've had this happen on other games too, but at this point I'm used to it. I'll back a game on KS if I want the extra goodies. Otherwise, I'll wait until PAX Unplugged. Really, while it's bad optics, I think what's happening is they'll get an allotment from the first production batch shipped directly to them for exactly this purpose, and presumably to do a final QC check. Backers need to wait for the boat with the full order to arrive.
