We played it just like in your pics. I believe we learned how to make the line very long by leaning the pencil hard forward, having you snap it really hard deep in the paper. The trick was then to find the balance point to not get stuck when tilting too steep. Good times... But we also played a different version as battle tanks. You were driving but also shooting like that. We drew symbols on the map for some kind of mines or powerups. I don't remember those ones exactly.

I never said 3 was ideal. I just chimed in why I think the game works well at 3 and doesn't require 4 to be a good time. Regarding the poll, I don't think recommending something is the same as just saying "it doesn't suck."

I struggle with learning the rules and teaching. But it is rewarding when I get it right and we all have a good time playing the game.
