Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Yes there was a ccg kickstarter some years ago that did this. And it's stupid as fuck. Most "variables" you're likely to think of are not going to be anywhere near as *variable* as you think. Take that example of hour. The vast majority of my games are played between 19 and 22 o clock. That ccg also made use of "dominant element in your environment" which is going to be real diverse if all your sessions happen in the same room.

I used to work at a board game store. I had a little pot of Vick’s Vapo Rub handy for rough customers. I’d put it under my nose. This was after I had a customer so ripe it actually gave me a terrible stomach ache for hours. We also had wall air fresheners AND spray.

Baba has surprised and confused me more than any other video game. I get the same thing, starting a level, "there is literally no logical way this can be solved", sit there for an hour, "oh".

Conventions of all sorts are usually too hot, feature a lot of walking (and quite a lot of people not used to a lot of walking), people traveling with limited changes of clothing and no way to do laundry. I've been pleasantly surprised that it hasn't been a problem at the boardgame cons I have been to in the UK and Europe. Never been to one in the USA so perhaps different there? Here most boardgame-centric shops, cafes and meeting places are generally fine, but a small minority - typically those who specialize in TCGs or wargaming - are absolutely gross. I guess when people are sat playing for hours it only takes a small percentage of the customers to be stinkers for the whole place to stink, and you talk to them about it they'll just go somewhere that doesn't mind and not come back. If you don't do anything about it then you become the cesspit.

Spoke with someone once who said that he was too poor to be able to afford a hotel room, so he just camped out wherever he could. He'd spend a whole weekend not bathing and would end up reeking. I asked him why the fuck he was buying tickets for a con for a full weekend hours away from home and he got upset and told me not to judge how he spent his money.
