   Pretty consistent with small KS/GF projects like this. If you are going to Gen Con or another major convention the company is attending you can save money by buying directly and avoiding shipping.

   There is no Kickstarter version. There is a deluxe version you could back on KS/GF which will also be sold on their webstore and at conventions and a retail version which will go through distribution. (Deluxe editions have become a common method for game companies to make money by fulfilling a want in the gaming community). The OP's use of "kickstarter goodies" was inaccurate.

   What "KS goodies"? There is a deluxe version of the game, available from KS/GF and from their webstore and conventions afterwards, and the retail version that will go to stores.

   As a general response... how many of those KS/GF board games go right to bigbox stores? For this game, the KS project was for the deluxe version, not the retail version going through distribution. Isn't this exactly the type of project KS should be used for? When you don't know what the niche demand will be for the deluxe version of a game?

   I can understand getting the first copies ready for a massive, important convention like this. Presumably it means games are fully in production or being shipped. Including the KS exclusives is fucked though. That's inexcusable- and means their KS was false advertising too. That would push me over the line into blacklisting the company. It's scummy behaviour and they lied to their backers. But I don't think you should be expected to know what backers were promised. You saw something you like, you bought it. I don't think you're responsible for their unethical behaviour
