A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Games with low rules overhead but with interaction that leads to complex strategy/tactics are amazing, and really perfect for first dipping your toes into more “hobby” or “modern” board games. Reiner Knizia is a prolific designer of this sort of game. His tile layers like Through the Desert, Babylonia, Huang, Hanami. Then plenty of auction games likes Ra, Modern Art, High Society. Kramer and Kiesling are also excellent in this regard. Like Renature, Azul. Other strong recommendations are Caylus 1303, Concordia, Hansa Teutonica

Tigris Euphrates and Ra while they are avail. Clank!, Azul.

2 or 3 years old here. We started with games like Chutes and Ladders, and Candyland. I adore my children, but I was reconsidering my life choices. Then we added Spot It and Memory, which were a bit better. Then we discovered Peaceable Kingdom games because of a gift from a friend, and started playing Hoot Owl Hoot, which was much more pleasant. Count Your Chickens was my daughter’s favorite. We added more cooperative games from PC over the next year or two. We also added Connect Four, Go Fish, Blink, and some other children’s card games around 3 or maybe 4 years old. That led to Uno. Then we were given Ticket to Ride First Journey. Things were really looking up. Somewhere around five we added games like Sleeping Queens, Checkers, Clue Jr., Enchanted Forest (we played a themed version), and Cinco Linko (OK Play). Monopoly Jackpot. Outfoxed. Labrynth. By then they were really into games and becoming strategic. We added some Grandpa Beck games plus Mantis, Halli Galli, and Perpetual Commotion (Dutch Blitz). Suspicion. Game time with them had become real fun, not just sweet quality time. By seven-ish we added games like Happy City, Machi Koro (with expansions) Sequence, Rack-O, Kingdomino, and Quacks and Co (junior Quacks/Dash). Set. Scout. Chess. Skull. Splendor. Ticket to Ride. Carcassonne. Sheriff of Nottingham. By eight-ish we’d added Point Salad. Sushi Go Party. King of Tokyo, Skull King. Then Survive the Island. Splendor Duel. Seven Wonders. Space Base. Now my youngest is nine. We’ve gotten really into Quacks. My children have different favorite games/ game mechanics. They aren’t all great at the same kinds of games. We make sure we mix it up so that we don’t play to any one person’s strengths all the time. We also have good snacks. I try to make game nights the most fun time of our week. Our main challenges are selecting the games we’re going to play and making sure we stop in time for bedtime. My nine year old son consistently beats me at Heat, Pedal to the Metal. My older daughter beats me at chess and often Seven Wonders. I still tend to win at Cascadia. Ra is a toss up, as is Trinket Trove. My younger daughter is better at faster-paced games than slow strategy, so she tires of the heavier games, but still wins them sometimes. Playing games with them has become the absolute highlight of my week.

I played Ra once, but probably too rules-heavy for me. Knizia's Modern Art and the much simpler classic High Society just works fine for me for auction based games! Am going through Quacks now (my first thought is that the theme of quack doctors is funny and definitely fits in an Indian context, if I play with my boardgame friends) Thanks for the suggestions

Push your luck games like **Quacks** or **Ra** (Ra would be my pick).
