Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Azul, Resistance: Avalon If i were to recommend games that are slightly different to the 1s above, but hopefully still something you'd like? Any Reiner Knizia- Quest for El Dorado, Ra/High Society (if you like auction), Through the Desert? A dudes on a map- Inis or Kemet maybe

Games with low rules overhead but with interaction that leads to complex strategy/tactics are amazing, and really perfect for first dipping your toes into more “hobby” or “modern” board games. Reiner Knizia is a prolific designer of this sort of game. His tile layers like Through the Desert, Babylonia, Huang, Hanami. Then plenty of auction games likes Ra, Modern Art, High Society. Kramer and Kiesling are also excellent in this regard. Like Renature, Azul. Other strong recommendations are Caylus 1303, Concordia, Hansa Teutonica

**Rollercoaster** is a game played with any number of players but probably best with 5-6, and comes from Reiner Knizia's **Dice Games Properly Explained** book. The game is played with two six-sided dice. The goal of each player is to survive the elimination rounds until the end to win. Players sat opposite each other each start with one die. On their turn, players roll as often and fast as they can until they roll a 1, then pass their die clockwise. If a player ever gets passed a die before they have rolled a 1 and passed on their own die, they are eliminated and a new round starts with players opposite each other. It's super silly and definitely high-randomness, but it gives a racing game or cat and mouse type feeling and plays super fast. **Pig!** from the same book is a push-your-luck game played with 1 die. On your turn, roll the die, if you roll a 1, thats a Pig! Your turn ends, you score nothing, and you pass the die to the next player. If you roll any other number, however, you add that to your score, and you can roll again or bank your points. The goal is to be the first to get to a pre-determined score (I play to 50 typically). Theoretically you could get all 5 points in one glorious run, and you can make up a lot of ground if you take more risks than your opponents.

I just published L.A.M.A. by Reiner Knizia for iOS and macOS - Hi! I'm Nick and I'm happy to announce that I just published the digital adaptation of the card game L.A.M.A. by renowned game author Reiner Knizia, for macOS and iOS. The app supports playing against any combination of bots, other local players sharing the same device, and online players connected with GameCenter or a custom server. The Party Edition is included as well. This is now my second digital game, after Odin. I loved the physical card game since I first bought it some years ago. It has been an honour to collaborate with Reiner and the people at AMIGO to bring the app to life. I'd be happy to hear about your experience with the game and any feedback you may have! L.A.M.A. app website A bit more context about myself: I started developing digital adaptations of board and card games I love in summer 2020, when the pandemic made it difficult to meet with family and play physical games. Since then, in my free time I developed several digital adaptations for personal use. From each new game I built, I was able to learn and improve and optimize every previous game. After reaching out to the physical game publishers, two of them are now on the App Store.

I don't remember really seeing much of that cultural sophistication, it was mainly some friendly ribbing over what was perceived to be superior design (deterministic, low luck, wooden components perceived as higher value, etc). It also had a lot to do with the designers/companies, as euro-style games mostly came from germany and some from france, while the more ttrpg/wargame inspired ones came from US companies. If you want to really boil it down, it was basically Fantasy Flight VS Reiner Knizia. Eurogames used more wooden components, simpler rules, open information, non-direct conflict, low RNG, and were less thematic. Ameritrash used more plastic components, complex rules, hidden information, direct conflict (or coop), heavy RNG, and were more thematic. Nowadays this has blurred a lot, we have thematic, rng-heavy euros, and low confrontation ameritrash games with wooden pieces, for example. Hell, back then the term eurogame wasn't even just for what we think nowadays, of economic worker placement engine building games, it also encompassed other games fitting some or all of the criteria I listed above. And Ameritrash almost squarely meant war games and dice-chucking, dungeon-crawling, coop games. Pretty much anything that wasn't a light party game could be adscribed one of the 2 categories (and even then, a lot of the whacky more party-like games I sometimes saw called ameritrash for not being high brow and deeply strategic).
