   I am not the OP but I am also a limited fan of Castles of Burgundy. I bought the game (2019 Alea version) two-three years back and sold it off some time thereafter. And here begins a somewhat unhinged rant as to what I disliked about Castles of Burgundy: The production quality of the game is BAD to a degree that it hinders my enjoyment of the game. The playerboards were already falling apart/torn when I opened the box. I bought a bunch of bags to draw tiles from for the game to become playable. (both 2011 and 2019 versions) The graphic design of the game is BAD to a degree that it hinders my enjoyment of the game. Tiles, especially yellow, are too hard to tell apart. The animals on the green tiles are too small. (both 2011 and 2019 versions) And a bit more on the subjective side: The game is FUCKING HIDEOUS in both the 2011 and 2019 versions, but especially so for the 2019 version. Why is it so hard to make a game not look aweful? I could design a a game with an amazing concept of gameplay - but if I built it out of literal feces, it would still be a pile of shit. And in spite of the publishers giving their all to sabotage the game, people still enjoy it. The game is great and I am still considering picking up the Special Edition at some point in the future... The joy of playing the retail edition on the other hand is greatly diminished.

   Missed the crowdfunding. Is it worth going for the limited edition or retail edition is just fine?

   Weird that the project page says "The retail edition will be published by Space Cowboys in 2027", then.

   You'd be paying Mithril Edition prices for retail-edition components and a 26-year-old game design that hasn't been updated at all.

   They are working on some cardboard dimensionality for the retail edition. That has not been finalized yet. But if you think about the dice tower in Fate of the Fellowship, it will likely be something along those lines.
