Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne are great entries to the wider world of modern games. Slightly more complex games that have landed really well with my family are Concordia, Hansa Teutonica and Grand Austria Hotel.

Make your own win conditions. When I play Settlers of Catan, if I manage to snake a road all around a hex, with three cities, so every time a that hex’s number is rolled I get 6 resources I win. If I have the port? I super win. My gaming group called it an Amy henge. For Ticket to Ride, if all of my cities connect, I win. Even if point wise I didn’t. In splendor, if I get one of the bonus cards, I win. I love the game, but am not good at it. My loss rate it super high, but if I get a bonus cards, I’ve played better than I usually do, so I win. I do prefer games with a bit of luck worked into the gameplay. If I have a 3 city port for sheep with a 2, if that 2 gets rolled, you can easily become the sheep baron. And that will keep you in the game. Having a bunch of cities connected will greatly increase the possibility that if you draw new tickets, they will already be partly completed if not fully completed. Splendor, has a lot of “stop hoarding all the (color of stone I need) so I just hope the easy to get cards flip for me, not after me.
