Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I've still got my 2014. It's definitely in need of a a refresh in regards to door seals, trim and the like. But mechanically it's held up great and I don't think I'll ever sell it.

Yes, yes it is People need to realize your money is worth a lot less. They are stuck in this 2014 mindset, they're brain has not accepted these numbers because inflation happened a lot faster than they ever experienced. They're stuck in the mindset of almost 0% inflation from 2008-2019. We saw 15 years of normal inflation just in the last 6 years alone. $40k today is almost the same purchasing power as $25k 10 years ago.

My dad owns a ~2022 Jeep Cherokee with the towing package and AWD. That stupid thing gets like 32 mpg on the highway. My 2014 Mazda CX-5 only gets like 26 tops on the same drive. Economy and ride quality aren't bad at this point. A sedan is going to be marginally better for economy, sure, but I also can't fit a ladder, gas power washer, and a tool kit in the back at the same time.

Two cars come to mind for me. The first is my 2012 Jetta SE beater car. It was my partners first car, and today its our beater. I have hated it from day one. I tried to stop her from buying it but she loved it. My biggest gripe is it's a black car with a black leather interior - it has aged poorly, as you might expect. I've already had to replace the sagging headliner just to keep it in usable condition. It's also just generally not a nice car. Meh stereo, front wheel drive, automatic. For a beater? Sure, it's still running. But I've just never enjoyed owning / driving / maintaining it despite its absolute refusal to die. 160K miles and 15 years of being street parked - the 2.5 inline 5 cylinder engine runs like a clock as the interior disintegrates. The second was my 2019 Genesis G70 2.0 manual. I bought it after my 2014 manual outback was totaled. At first I was totally enthralled. Candy apple red, manual, rear wheel drive, and coming from an outback it felt fast. The more I drove it, the faster I lost my love for it. The clutch is hydraulic, no throw out bearing - so it's completely numb and gives no feedback. When you try to drive it above like 7/10ths, it pulls power. The tacked on as an afterthought infotainment screen disrupted what was otherwise a gorgeous interior. The visibility, despite being a small car, was bad. The trunk was so shallow it was useless. I ended up selling it, pocketing half the money and using the other half to buy a 2014 Ural Gear Up. I had more fun in the first few days of the Ural than I did in three years of owning the Genesis.
