Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I don't really have an opinion on this, but 5-60 might give more information in terms of putting the power down. 0-60 will include potentially wheel spin, launch sequence feature, traction control, and that initial going from still to moving grip aspect. 5-60 will remove that. I'm not sure if it's meant so that you can time yourself going from 5-60, or so you can get a car that's really fast 5-60 because that's something you do a lot, but rather if you compare two cars, and 0-60 is favourable on one and 5-60 on the other maybe or whatever, you can determine that one car struggle to find grip off the line, whereas the other doesn't, but once it finds the grip, it is faster or whatever. I think it just gives more information about where the cars perform. If you compare both numbers for cars, you can see which ones perform better off the line only. iow, 0-5. You don't get the righer number because you intend to race people 5-60 or whatever. But you get a value that is basically "acceleration of vehicle, ignoring the part where you get off the line". That said, some cars might still be wheel spinning 5mph in lol.

  2. Comment

My point is that it’s a stupid scenario for a manual car to be in. So you’re at a standstill, then you slip slowly up to 5mph and then race? Why would you put yourself in that spot in the first place, this is not the nature of the car. An automatic sure I can understand but in a manual 5-60 is a weird spot to be in because you’re purposefully bogging yourself down in the spirit of racing. If it’s to preserve the clutch by all means sure but even a little more slip wouldn’t change much to the clutch life

  3. Comment

There’s more to that, 5mph is the engagement point of first gear, way out of boost. If you use slip the clutch more into the boost rpm range it’s quicker and not a full launch either.

  5. Comment

In the US, the law is that a properly functioning speedometer is calibrated to within 5mph, so it's very easy to argue against tickets within that range. Also, for radars, the measured speed is relative to the cosine of the incident angle. Realistically this means you need to be doing at least 7-10 over before the radar will show you are doing 5 over, thus the conventional wisdom that anything under 10 over is "safe"
