Car sales topping 50k isn't a sign of health. It's a sign of desperation, as everyone who should be able to buy a $35k car cannot. So the *average* tips upward toward the rich who can.

   A mustang GT is 80,000$ in my area. A well optioned GR86 is 40. Yes the mustang is faster but its not twice the car a GR86 is. What American car competes with a Civic Si, ElantraN, GR86, or gtI? Wheres that entry level fun? An ecoboost mustang? Theyre 50k here and cant drive them year round. The only truck worth getting is a 5.0 F150 but they start at 75. Id consider the new 3.0eb but they start at 55 for a 4x4. The GMs are blowing engines left and right, chrysler is garbage all around. The recalls are frankly unbelievable, and the usa3 suvs are rubbish compared to their asian equivalents. No shit they cant compete. Its about time they learned the hard way, got their poop in a group and started making stuff worth buying.

   The Mustang isn't even affordable anymore. The base model is a 4 cylinder automatic only...who is this for? If you want a manual or V8 engine, it jumps to almost $50k.
