Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

The US is a much more difficult place to start up a good charging network than Europe or China: * Low population density * Low market share * Until recently the charger market was fractured into two incompatible standards I think the situation will get much better as the market standardises onto NACS, that will basically double the number of charging stations available to any car. Once you combine the networks the coverage is not bad, certainly in particular regions:

High trust society is not giving up your privacy and tons of other rights to achieve a "stable high trust society", it is great police can track whoever road rages, but the same way they can track and harass regime critics. Anyone who believes the "China is in 2050" bullshit should go to china and live like a chinese to see how government controls EVERYTHING, more than western mind could comprehend.

I literally just read an article saying how gas cars still cost less than EVs in Europe. I'll see if I can find it. I China, I'm not familiar with. And that purchase price is only one part of the equation. I was just trying to point out that asking "why are people still buying EVs is a very out of focus question. EVs are still in their infancy. They infrastructure isn't close to as expansive, and the initial purchase price--while MUCH more competitive than in the past--is still higher than gas cars in many places. It is not nearly as clear/easy of a decision as you seem to think.

12% of global new cars are sold in the US. Way less than China at 32% and slightly less than the EU at 14%.
