Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Nissan and Hyundai/Kia both turned the corner around 2021\*. They respectively had issues with overstressed CVTs and engine manufacturing flaws in the 2010s. Nobody should buy their 2010s cars unless they're very sure the particular engine and transmission are reliable, like my 2015 Genesis. I don't think anyone should choose reliability by brand because "reliable" brands are having their own issues. Honda has head gaskets failing on their turbo and hybrid engines (due to coolant intrusion). Toyotas have issues with their more powerful hybrids and many engines' EGR valves (although the failures are less terrible and systemic than other manufacturers). \* Hyundai EV ICCU issues notwithstanding.

Plus cracked subaru head gaskets - even as recently as my 2018 forester. Edit to add it burned oil at a terrible rate. I had to check the oil level about twice a month

94 subaru back in the day. $800 each automatic seatbelts. head gasket. oil burning. uncomfortable rattly piece of shit

“every few months” that’s not a thing. certain vins qualify and those that do get a 10 year 150k mile warranty on the head gasket.

I still have a 1st gen pathfinder, it's our 3rd one, the previous one (a 1994) we put over 500,000km on it before selling it as a parts truck after I didn't want to repair the frame for the third time. Having also a 4runner of the same vintage with the head gasket eating v6 with, I'll take the pathfinder any day. And I only buy them from the west coast of Canada now (I'm in Ontario)
