   Fair enough. The FA24 in the newer WRXs has a lot of the issues of the old EJ motors figured out, it's pretty easy to work on, spark plugs aren't a nightmare to access, doesn't spontaneously blow head gaskets... But yea gas mileage is still terrible and you need to be cool with doing oil changes every 3k miles

   Some poor bloke who dropped off his 1000hp Mustang with a custom built T56 Magnum F for an oil change at the Hennessey workshop. "Where the fuck has my transmission gone?!"

   I bought a 99 C43 AMG with over 200k on the clock. I got it for nothing, and my plan was to swap the old motor for the bigger one from an E55 "whenever the old one lets go." I beat it as hard as I could. 20k mile oil changes, ignored leaks, ignored the low oil light on the dash. After 40-50k miles of non stop redline shifts it showed no signs of giving up. It just kept going and going and never once stumbled. Only repair along the way was a bad water pump (which was factory original). Finally at 300k the timing chain was getting noisy but it still ran perfectly fine. Still got 0-60 in 5.6s. I finally swapped it but didn't throw the old one away. It deserves better than that.

   My recently retired 09 Pontiac Vibe has over 335,000 miles. Been driving 140 miles a day round trip to work and back for over two years. Oil changes about every 6000 miles cause I put a quart of oil in it every other week. It’s a Toyota underneath. I’ll never own a more reliable car.

   1984 diesel bj60 Landcruiser 876k. Bought it for $1200 when it had 480k. Did literally nothing but oil changes and brakes. It would have kept going too but the frame turned to literal stone. A kid and his dad bought it for $1500 but I wouldn’t let them drive it home but I’m sure once I was out of eyesight they did anyway. Seen it around town here and there. Hope they addressed the frame.
