Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Not sure why people make this mistake so often. The larger vehicles have a larger profit *because* they're more popular. If sedans were in higher demand they'd be able to price them higher and they'd be more profitable. But nobody wants them.

I have bought 5 cars in the last 4 years, all pure ICE. 3 forced induction, 2 naturally aspirated. 3 new, 2 used. I can work on all my cars and readily do. Recurring maintenance cost is very low. Platform is very mature and stable. Charging stations are non-existent nearby me. I drive sometimes 200 miles in 2 days, and I don't have time to drive out of my way to charge if I didn't get to charge the night before. EV resale values are terrible. I shark incentive rates and invest the principle. I have beaten depreciation on every ICE car I have borrowed against. I think most people who don't understand ICE cars are also people who don't know how to work on or maintain ICE cars. Also, the choices on EV's are so limited. You basically get crossovers and sedans in EV's at average car prices. Everything else is so expensive (Rivian, high-end sports cars, etc.). To add the elephant in the room - right now EV drivers are getting away with not paying taxes on their "fuel". Gas tax covers roadwork and maintenance for all of our public roads. Once enough people get EV's, I guarantee you the govt will start charging a hefty EV tax to cover the net revenue loss from fuel consumption reduction. There is no way govt will be able to maintain roads with heavier vehicles (EV) putting more wear and tear with less funding.

Huh, interesting. I didn't know the JDM sedan and wagon has the hatchback's shorter wheelbase. That's unfortunate that Japan gets squeezed on their car sizes, but I understand given how tightly packed their country is...especially Tokyo. But yeah, I do know that the Corolla has historically been on the smaller end of its class. With that being said, Toyota doesn't excel at interior packaging like Honda does.

What does that have to do with the 1” of ground clearance and headroom in a CUV vs sedan/hatchback and the 20% decrease in MPG? Weird to create stats like “90% it’s better for their lives” given that roughly 1/3 of the country rents (doesn’t have access to home charging), and likely can’t afford the higher car payment/insurance of an EV (points to the higher average age of cars on the road, roughly 13 years old). If you don’t want to address your absurd argument for ground clearance to run over parking lot curbs, just say so. “Aversion to inconvenience” doesn’t have anything to do with what was stated prior.

They are, but we still have to get over two major hurdles: 1. People thinking that they need tons of room in their vehicle at all times “just in case,” and 2. The misconception that SUVs are inherently safer than sedans.
