I pay on average 15p/kWh in the UK but this is an average. Off peak is dirt cheap but you can't always use off peak. We've no battery yet

Where are you? This is a wild switch. I'm in the UK paying an average around 14-16p/kWh which is roughly what I paid before smart-tariffs 10 years ago.
