   People bring laptops with them traveling all the time with no issues. I don’t understand your reasoning for needing customs. There’s also a lot of adults that would also drop everything for a free flight to Asia

   Air in Medellin is cleaner than basically any urban area in Asia.

   Yeah definitely I think there's a few things. The biggest change was how slower the pace of life is. BKK is a busy place and always going. Even in a city like CDMX, I had a bit of a cultural shock on how slow paced life was. Second, language. Certainly much easier than Asian languages and it's considerably easier to integrate. Also Spanish has so many ways to express yourself with different words that it's genuinely a fun language. Third, blending in (at least in my case). In Asia I stick out like a sore thumb whereas here I pass as a local which over time you realise how nice this becomes. Third, food. Hard to beat Latin American food. Don't get me wrong I miss the access of Asian food but Mexican food in particular aaayyyy, qué rico! Lastly, the region as a whole are very family and tight knit orientated. Making friends with locals is considerably easier and authentic relationships as well, whereas in Asia a lot work needed to put into it.

   I work remotely, and don’t try to live luxuriously. Asia is obviously much cheaper, but I can find reasonable accommodations as I briefly explore a few US places. Then I’d pick a place to settle if I chose the US. I hear you though. Some places are more uncertain, but I try to stay in safer areas in Asia, and not do anything too risky. Seems nature is doing crazy things these days in a lot of places.
